The Hot Foil Printing Process

In this separate process, shiny metallic foil is bonded to the printed surface. This gives a metallic mirror-like finish you can achieve in no other way.  Not surprisingly, the most popular colours are silver and gold but a whole variety of hues can be used to compliment or contrast with your logo or corporate colours.

A technical tip for designers: You can foil areas in your artwork by creating a custom (spot) ink colour for just those areas. The colour you use doesn't matter. To check everything is correct, print colour separations. The areas where foil is to be applied should appear on a separate plate.
